Trump Elected Pam Bondi as Attorney General : Trump’s Unconventional Choice
Trump Elected Pam Bondi as Attorney General tonight after Matt Gaetz suddenly withdrew his nomination from contention after days of controversy. Trump has a new choice i.e the former Florida attorney general and longtime ally Pam Bondi.
It certainly raises the question of maybe this was the plan all along maybe this was just to get Matt Gaetz out of the game.
It only took some hours for Trump to nominate Bondi Thursday in a social media post.
“Pam will refocus the DOJ to its intended purpose of fighting Crime and Making America Safe Again. I have known Pam for many years — She is smart and tough and is an AMERICA FIRST Fighter who will do a terrific job as Attorney General!”
Now, of course, Bondi has been a very strong ally of Trump. Pam Bondi is an American attorney and politician who served as the Attorney General of Florida from 2011 to 2019.
History of Pam Bondi
Bondi commenced her legal career as a prosecutor at the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office, where she gained recognition for her role in high-profile criminal cases. Following her tenure as a prosecutor, she transitioned to private practice and became a partner at a law firm, focusing on criminal defence.
Bondi entered the political arena in 2010 when she ran for Attorney General of Florida as a Republican and took office in January 2011.
What is Pam Bondi’s relationship with Trump?
Trump Elected Pam Bondi as Attorney General but what relation they have with each other? This started with the handling of an investigation into Trump University in 2013. The situation became a point of argument due to allegations of a conflict of interest, primarily from a campaign contribution that Bondi received from Donald Trump while the investigation was ongoing.
Let’s discuss this in more detail
Trump University was a for-profit education company founded by Donald Trump in 2005. The company offered courses in real estate and business but faced serious legal challenges due to allegations of deceptive practices. Customers who enrolled in the programs claimed that Trump University misled them with false promises of exclusive real estate training and access to Trump’s personal network. Multiple lawsuits had been filed against the company, including one in California and another in Florida.
In Florida, Trump University was under investigation by Pam Bondi’s office for possible breaches of the state’s consumer protection laws but the investigation was dropped now the controversy arises as to why the state office decided to drop the investigation In 2013, it was revealed that Donald Trump made a $25,000 political donation to Bondi’s re-election campaign through a political action committee (PAC) just days before the Florida Attorney General’s office decided not to pursue an investigation into Trump University but they both declined the charges against them.
Pam Bondi was a member of Trump’s impeachment defence team.
Pam Bondi played a significant role as a member of Donald Trump’s legal team during his impeachment trial in January 2020. She contributed to the defence efforts in the Senate, following the House of Representatives’ decision to impeach him on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Her involvement highlights the complexities of legal representation during high-stakes political events.
Pam Bondi supported trump in his Election claims
The reason Trump Elected Pam Bondi as Attorney General could be that she also gained widespread attention through her dynamic appearances on Fox News, where she emerged as a vocal defender of Donald Trump during his presidential campaign. Her influence peaked during the 2016 Republican National Convention, a pivotal event where Trump was formally nominated as the party’s candidate. During her impassioned speech, the crowd erupted with chants of “Lock her up,” targeting Trump’s Democratic challenger, Hillary Rodham Clinton. In response to this enthusiasm, Bondi enthusiastically endorsed the sentiment, saying, “’Lock her up,’ I love that,” which resonated strongly with the assembled supporters.
